The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has released the official notification for the CRP PO 2024 examination. Preliminary Exam Pattern 2024
The Preliminary Exam is the first stage of the selection process and is conducted online. It consists of three sections: English Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability. The exam comprises 100 questions, each carrying one mark, with a total duration of 60 minutes. The exam follows a sectional timing structure, and there is a penalty of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.

To qualify for the Main Exam, candidates must clear the sectional cut-off in all three sections.
Main Exam Pattern 2024
The Main Exam is more comprehensive and includes an objective test along with a descriptive test. The objective test consists of four sections: Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, English Language, Data Analysis & Interpretation, and General, Economy/Banking Awareness.
- Reasoning & Computer Aptitude: 45 questions, 60 marks, 60 minutes
- English Language: 35 questions, 40 marks, 40 minutes
- Data Analysis & Interpretation: 35 questions, 60 marks, 45 minutes
- General, Economy/Banking Awareness: 40 questions, 40 marks, 35 minutes
The descriptive test includes letter writing and essay, carrying 25 marks, and must be completed within 30 minutes. There is a penalty of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in the objective test.
Interview Process
Candidates who qualify for the Main Exam are invited for the Interview Process, which carries 100 marks. To qualify, candidates need a minimum of 40% marks (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates).
Final Selection
The final selection for the post of Probationary Officer is based on the cumulative score of the Main Exam and the Interview, with a weightage ratio of 80:20. A merit list is generated, and candidates who qualify receive their joining letters.
